A banking blunder saw her accidentally transfer her vital business capital to Streams of Joy International, the prominent ministry led by Pastor Jerry Eze.

The N1.6 Million Mistake
The ordeal kicked off on Friday. Okpara had successfully transferred a N1,000 offering to the church. Moments later, she attempted to send a separate payment of over N1.6 million to a Zenith Bank account for business purposes. In a stroke of devastating bad luck, she mistakenly selected the church’s account details instead.
Panic set in the moment she opened the transaction receipt and realized where the funds had gone.
“This money is not my money,” Okpara pleaded in her emotional video clip. “I cannot do an offering of 1,640,200. Please help me trace the accounts.”
Red Tape and a Viral Cry for Help
Desperate to undo the massive error, Okpara rushed to both Zenith Bank and the fintech platform Moniepoint. While her complaint was logged, banking officials delivered a crushing blow: recovering the funds would require a formal court order, leaving her with no immediate options.
Unable to easily locate direct administrative contact details for Streams of Joy International, Okpara turned to the digital world. After visiting Pastor Jerry Eze’s online prayer platform, she recorded an SOS video on Friday, begging the public and anyone connected to the ministry to intervene.
Swift Action from Streams of Joy
The internet did what it does best. The video spread rapidly, quickly catching the attention of the Streams of Joy International administrative team.
In a public statement, the church clarified that while they hadn’t received any prior emails, calls, direct messages, or formal complaints before the video went live, they immediately swung into action once they saw the online appeal. Using the phone number Okpara provided in her video, church staff reached out to her directly.
Following a rapid internal investigation to verify the transaction, the church authorized a full reversal of the funds.
