AWKA ETITI — The family of the late Chief Lucky Adimike, popularly known as Ego neje ije of Awka Etiti, has officially broken their silence regarding his sudden and painful demise.
In an emotional and detailed press statement released to ABT NEWS, the Adimike family addressed the public for the first time, clearing up misconceptions surrounding their initial silence and detailing the unusual circumstances surrounding how the prominent chief was found dead.
Grief and a Mother’s Failing Health
According to the statement, the family’s prolonged public silence was not an attempt to conceal facts or mislead the public, but rather a result of profound shock and intense grief. The family revealed they have been focused on mourning and managing the devastating impact the news has had on their elderly mother.
“Since Lucky’s death, we have not said much publicly because the family is still in shock. Many of us have been crying and struggling to accept what happened,” the statement read. “We are also taking care of our aged mother, whose health has been seriously affected by the sudden death of her son. We needed time to understand the situation and manage the information reaching the family.”
The family emphasized that they now feel a responsibility to speak clearly, correct false narratives circulating in the public space, and formally call upon law enforcement authorities for a thorough, transparent, and fair investigation.
The Timeline: Suspicious Circumstances Surrounding the Discovery
The family’s statement provided a chilling timeline of the events leading up to the discovery of Chief Lucky’s body, which is believed to have occurred during the late hours of Thursday night into the early hours of Friday morning.
On Friday morning, Chief Lucky’s personal driver arrived at the residence as usual. Upon trying to reach his employer via phone calls, there was no response. Out of protocol and respect, the driver remained outside the house, waiting for the Chief to descend the stairs.
The situation took an unusual turn when Chief Lucky’s wife allegedly called the driver on the phone, instructing him to go inside the house and check on her husband. According to the family, the driver found this request highly unusual, as he had been a long-term employee of Chief Lucky but had never once been permitted or asked to enter his employer’s private bedroom.
Shortly after, Chief Lucky’s son and daughter, who had reportedly left earlier for work, entered the timeline. The son returned to the house, saw the driver waiting outside, and similarly requested that the driver go upstairs to check on his father.
Wary of the unusual nature of the requests, the driver refused to enter the private quarters alone. Despite a second phone call from the Chief’s wife repeating the instruction, the driver stood his ground, stating he would only enter the house if accompanied by the Chief’s son.
The two eventually entered the building together. According to the account provided to the family, the son approached Chief Lucky’s bedroom door and attempted to try the door handle to gain access, marking the initial moments of the tragic discovery.
A Demand for Justice
With several questions still unanswered regarding the timeline and the behavior of those present at the house, the Adimike family is urging the police and relevant investigative bodies to leave no stone unturned.
They have vowed to seek the truth behind the passing of Ego neje ije of Awka Etiti, insisting that justice must be served.
ABT NEWS will continue to follow this developing story closely and provide updates as more details emerge from the ongoing investigation.
