Nollywood star Annie Idibia has officially laid to rest the swirling speculation that she and her ex-husband, music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, are back together.
For days, social media has been buzzing with whispers of a potential reconciliation between the former power couple. The frenzy was sparked on Friday, July 17, when a video surfaced showing the pair sharing an affectionate moment at a nightclub. The clip quickly gained major traction online, leading eager fans to wonder if the two had secretly rekindled their romance.
However, taking to her Instagram Stories on Monday, Annie was quick to pour cold water on the claims. The actress clarified that the footage being circulated by blogs and fans is entirely outdated and being taken completely out of context.
“Old videos circulating everywhere, false news everywhere,” she wrote, definitively shutting down the narrative.
The couple, who share two daughters, shocked the entertainment industry when they announced the end of their marriage in January 2025 after more than a decade together. Since their high-profile split, both have moved forward with their lives. The legendary “African Queen” crooner has since remarried, tying the knot with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru.
While fans of the erstwhile couple might have held onto a glimmer of hope after the weekend’s viral video, Annie’s recent update confirms that their romantic chapter remains firmly closed, urging the public to stop spreading outdated clips.
