TRAGEDY IN KENSINGTON: SAUDI PRINCE FOUND DEAD IN £600-A-NIGHT HOTEL SUITE

A 29-year-old Saudi royal was found dead inside his luxury fifth-floor suite at the Kensington Marriott Hotel in West London following a high-stakes struggle with addiction and a recent stint at the ultra-exclusive Priory Clinic, a London inquest has heard.

Prince Abdullah bin Fahad bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Jalawi al Saud, a direct descendant of the great-great-grandfather of King Salman of Saudi Arabia, was discovered unresponsive on his bathroom floor by hotel housekeeping. Security and emergency responders rushed to the scene but were unable to revive him.

Key Details from Inner West London Coroner’s Court

  • The Location: Marriott Hotel, Kensington, West London (£600-per-night room).
  • The Discovery: A cleaner unlocked his fifth-floor room on November 25 after he failed to respond, finding him fully clothed on the bathroom floor.
  • CCTV Footage: Last seen alive the evening prior on hotel CCTV, stepping outside alone for a cigarette.
  • Rehab History: Discharged from the world-renowned Priory Clinic in Roehampton (costing up to £35,000 a week) and later Rainford Hall in Merseyside (£7,000 a week).
  • Official Verdict: Death by misadventure caused by multi-drug ingestion leading to cardiac arrest.

The Toxic Mix: Toxicologists Reveal Lethal Levels

Court evidence presented at the Inner West London Coroner’s Court revealed that the young royal had consumed a deadly combination of alcohol, illicit party drugs, and prescription medications shortly before his death:

SubstanceDetected ConcentrationContext / Danger Level
Alcohol (Ethanol)222 mg / 100 mlNearly 3 times the UK drink-drive limit (80 mg/100 ml); capable of inducing coma.
GHB (Gamma-hydroxybutyrate)Potentially fatal levelsHighly dangerous CNS depressant (“party drug”), lethal when mixed with alcohol.
Xanax (Alprazolam)Recreational dosePotent anti-anxiety benzodiazepine.
Cannabis & Prescription MedsTraces detectedIncluded therapeutic levels of prescription anti-anxiety medications.

“The deceased suffered cardiac arrest as a direct consequence of combining high doses of alcohol with severe central nervous system depressants.”Medical Evidence Submitted to Court

High-Society Rehab Stays Failed to Stem the Crisis

Prior to checking into the Kensington Marriott on November 19 for a scheduled seven-day stay, Prince Abdullah had sought elite private treatment for severe substance dependencies involving alcohol, Xanax, and Pregabalin.

  • The Priory Clinic (Roehampton): Psychiatrist Dr. Victoria Chamorro reported that Prince Abdullah had “engaged well” during his inpatient detox program in August, describing him as kind, supportive to peers, and free of suicidal ideation upon discharge.
  • Rainford Hall (Merseyside): Following his Priory stay, he underwent further care at the £7,000-a-week facility, successfully completing treatment in mid-October.

Despite completing treatment and showing positive signs during outpatient assessments, the young prince tragically fell back into heavy drug and alcohol use shortly after checking into his London hotel.

Coroner Rules Out Foul Play and Self-Harm

Assistant Coroner Jean Harkin officially concluded that there was no evidence of third-party involvement or intention to end his own life, citing a total absence of suicide notes, direct threats, or suspicious activity on CCTV footage.

Recording a formal verdict of death by misadventure, Coroner Harkin extended her deepest condolences to the Saudi royal family following the tragic loss.
