The dead really do tell tales! Nearly two decades after the tragic passing of legendary Ugandan Kadongo Kamu music icon Paul Job Kafeero, the earth has literally been moved to uncover a massive web of paternity lies.
Kafeero, who tragically died in 2007 at the young age of 36, left behind a colossal, multi-billion shilling estate comprising prime land, sprawling houses, and highly lucrative music royalties. But he also left behind a fierce, 20-year legal battlefield filled with 25 people claiming to be his children, backed by mothers desperate to get a slice of the superstar’s wealth.
For almost 20 years, these women and their children fought tooth and nail in court over the inheritance. The bitter, long-standing dispute reached a boiling point earlier this year, forcing the court to make an unprecedented and macabre ruling: the music legend’s body had to be dug up!
The Exhumation and The Shocking Truth
On 1st June 2026, forensic experts descended upon his burial ground. The late singer’s remains were exhumed, and bone and tissue samples were carefully collected from his skull, jaw, and femoral bones by the Uganda Police Forensic Services Laboratory to finally settle the score.
On 25th June 2026, the highly anticipated results were officially released at the Uganda Police Headquarters in Naguru, overseen by the Minister of Local Government, Balaam Barugahara.
The results dropped like a bombshell, sparking tears of devastation for some and absolute joy for others. Out of the 25 individuals who underwent the DNA testing, only FOUR were confirmed to be his biological children!
The four rightful heirs to the Kafeero empire have been officially named as:
- Benedicto Kafeero
- Simon Peter Kafeero
- Thomas Kafeero
- Elizabeth Nagawa
21 “Heirs” Sent Packing
As for the other 21 individuals who spent decades believing—or at least claiming—they carried the blood of a musical genius? The DNA tests conclusively proved they were completely unrelated to the late singer.
