VIRAL RUMORS CRUSHED: UK Prosecutors Confirm Poco Lee’s Sexual Offence Case Remains “Live”

Popular Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, widely known as Poco Lee, traveled to the United Kingdom this past August to perform at the massive “Davido and Friends” concert, and quickly found himself facing a severe legal battle. He was hit with five grave sexual offence charges under UK law—including two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, and two counts of assault by penetration.

But over the last few days, social media was set ablaze with viral rumors claiming the entertainer had been entirely cleared. Rampant online speculation—fueled by commentators and industry associates—suggested that the complainant had withdrawn the case, an out-of-court settlement had been reached, and the dancer had already been released.

Therefore, the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has officially stepped forward to shut down the hearsay, stating definitively that the case against the entertainer remains active and “live.” While officials have not clarified his current custody or bail status, Odinaka is mandated to appear before the Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026, for a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing (PTPH) as the legal proceedings advance.

Legal Note: The UK court maintains strict reporting restrictions under the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992 to permanently protect the identity of the complainant. All allegations against Odinaka remain unproven until determined by a court of law.
