2027 ELECTION TIMEBOMB: Supreme Court Leaves PDP and ADC in Absolute panic as Judgments are Delayed!

ABUJA — The road to the 2027 General Elections just hit an explosive roadblock! In a stunning twist that has sent shockwaves through Nigeria’s political landscape, the Supreme Court has indefinitely reserved judgment on the bitter leadership wars tearing apart the nation’s major opposition parties—the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

With the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deadlines looming like a ticking timebomb, the apex court’s delay has plunged both parties into unprecedented suspense, internal panic, and absolute political paralysis!

The PDP Civil War: Wike’s Camp vs. The Governors

The once-mighty PDP is currently bleeding from a brutal internal schism, fractured into two warring factions locked in a fight to the death for the soul of the party. On one side stands the faction led by Tanimu Turaki (SAN), heavily fortified by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed. On the other side is the formidable bloc led by Abdulrahman Mohammed, notoriously backed by the powerful Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

In a dramatic twist, the Wike-backed faction isn’t waiting for the Supreme Court to drop the gavel. In a brazen show of force, they have aggressively rolled out their 2027 schedule of activities, dropping a bombshell by pegging their Presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest forms at a staggering N51 million, and Governorship forms at N21 million!

The Turaki-led faction immediately fired back, describing the move as an “exercise in absolute futility.” The faction’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, blasted the Wike camp, accusing them of acting as though “they already have the court in their pockets” and labeling them as detractors secretly working for the ruling APC.

“Nigerians should completely disregard their timetable. They are working for APC, not PDP!” Ememobong declared. But the Wike faction dismissed the outrage, boasting of an “impressive” rush by politicians to snatch up the N51 million forms.

ADC in Shambles: A Vicious Three-Way Power Struggle

If you thought the PDP was chaotic, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is currently a theater of absolute anarchy. The party has shockingly disintegrated into three distinct, warring factions!

The supreme battle lines are drawn between:

  1. A coalition bloc fiercely led by former Senate President David Mark.
  2. A rebel faction championed by Nafiu Gombe.
  3. A National Executive Committee-backed group aligned with the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, led by Kingsley Ogga.

Following a fierce legal showdown over control, the Supreme Court heard the appeals challenging the lower courts’ rulings and the electoral commission’s previous removal of David Mark from the official register. But once again, the apex court left everyone holding their breath, reserving judgment for an unannounced date.

The Ticking INEC Clock

Time is running out, and the INEC guillotine is waiting! INEC has set a rigid May 10 deadline for political parties to submit their membership registers. With party primaries mandatorily scheduled between April 23 and May 30, 2026, both the PDP and ADC are now trapped in a dangerous race against time.

Can these paralyzed opposition parties survive this legal purgatory, or will this chaotic delay pave the way for a one-party dominance in 2027? Aspirants are stranded, billions of Naira are hanging in the balance, and millions of supporters are left entirely in the dark.

All eyes are now locked onto the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Whenever the gavels finally fall, the resulting shockwaves will definitively reshape the 2027 Presidential Election!
