UYO, NIGERIA — The political climate in Nigeria reached another high point as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took a direct jab at NDC Presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi. Addressing a packed crowd at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Tinubu drew a sharp contrast between his administrative track record in Lagos and Obi’s tenure in Anambra whilst both of them were governor of their respective states..
A Battle of Records: Coastal Engineering vs. Inland Erosion
Speaking at an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally hosted in his honour, President Tinubu highlighted his signature reclamation work along the Bar Beach coastline in Lagos to push back the encroaching ocean during his time as governor.
“In Anambra State, he could not confront erosion. I, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, confronted the Atlantic Ocean. I claim it for you. Umo Eno confronted the erosion in Akwa Ibom, and he is working for you,” Tinubu declared to the cheering audience.
Tinubu went on to criticize Obi’s political career trajectory, questioning his leadership consistency following his transitions between political platforms.
