“I Cannot Be Stampeded From The Upcoming Elections!”: Atiku Vows To Defy Court Nullification And Stay On The 2027 Ballot

Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has fired back fiercely following a recent Federal High Court ruling in Abuja that nullified the leadership of his party and effectively threw his presidential nomination into jeopardy.

Speaking out against the legal setback, Atiku declared that no amount of political maneuvering, threats, or court rulings would frustrate him out of the 2027 race or keep him off the ballot.

The Legal Storm and the ADC Crisis

The political landscape was thrown into uncertainty after a Federal High Court judgment voided the David Mark-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the ADC and invalidated the party’s primary elections. Critics and opposition figures have decried the timing of the ruling—coming just months before the general elections—labeling it an orchestrated attempt to weaken the opposition and sideline President Bola Tinubu’s primary challengers.

In response, the party’s legal team has swiftly moved to challenge the verdict, filing an appeal to overturn the judgment.

“Bola Tinubu Cannot Use the Courts to Escape Judgement”

Unfazed by the legal hurdles, Atiku rallied his supporters, insisting that the ultimate decision belongs to the Nigerian electorate at the polls rather than through judicial technicalities.

“Let me be clear to every Nigerian who has stood with us: I am in this race. I am not going anywhere. We will be on the ballot. No threat, blackmail or court manoeuvre will make me abandon you or the cause we share,” Atiku stated.

He further emphasized that his campaign remains locked onto the pressing socioeconomic realities facing citizens, particularly the spiraling cost of living, while challenging the ruling administration to face the public verdict transparently. Meanwhile, government figures such as Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo have downplayed the opposition’s uproar, asserting that the political space will move forward regardless.

As the legal battles and political chess pieces line up ahead of the 2027 polls, the tension between the ruling camp and a splintered opposition continues to intensify.
