ABUJA — The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the deployment of new Commissioners of Police (CPs) to eight state commands and various strategic administrative formations across the country.

The redeployment, which follows the approval of the IGP’s recommendations by the Police Service Commission (PSC), is targeted at boosting operational efficiency, strengthening internal capacity, and consolidating ongoing reforms within the Nigeria Police Force.

According to the Force Spokesperson, IGP Disu has charged the newly deployed police bosses to leverage their wealth of experience in their respective assignments. He strictly mandated the officers to adopt intelligence-led policing, elevate operational effectiveness, promote discipline, and deepen community engagement.

“The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to strategic personnel deployments as a key component of its ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening internal capacity, and delivering more effective policing services to all Nigerians,” the statement read in part.

The IGP further urged the new CPs to remain steadfast in safeguarding the lives and property of citizens while upholding the highest standards of accountability and professional service delivery.
