According to Dr. Batten, the post from the Tinubu-linked account quoted a letter dated July 6, 2026, allegedly praising the Nigerian President for “fighting insecurity.” However, unlike standard diplomatic communications, the administration provided no scanned copy, no original image, no White House seal, and no actual signature. They only provided plain text formatted with a typed date and signature block.
Damage Control or Diplomacy?
Calling the presentation unusual and deliberate, Dr. Batten suggested that this might be a desperate cover-up attempt to distract from far more serious issues currently looming in Washington D.C.
“We are not saying that a standard diplomatic response letter was never sent to President Tinubu.
