BREAKING: Andrew and Tristan Tate Arrested in Miami by U.S. Marshals as UK Files 38 New Charges

MIAMI, FL — Controversial influencers and dual U.S.-British citizens Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami on Saturday, July 18, 2026, by the U.S. Marshals Service. The arrest comes as the United Kingdom’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) formally requests their extradition to face a barrage of new, severe criminal charges.

Why the Arrest? The New Charges Explained

The brothers were taken into custody following a sprawling investigation spearheaded by the UK’s Bedfordshire Police into historical allegations. Authorities have authorized 38 new charges against the brothers relating to four additional alleged victims, bringing the total number of charges they face in Britain to 59.

The sweeping new allegations date back to offenses allegedly committed between July 2010 and August 2017:

  • Andrew Tate, 39: Now faces 42 total charges. The latest indictment hits him with seven additional counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and 19 charges related to extreme pornography and indecent images of a child.
  • Tristan Tate, 38: Now faces 17 total charges. He was hit with two additional counts of rape, one count of sexual assault, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.

Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the Special Crime Division at the CPS, confirmed the extradition request, stating the charging decisions followed the receipt of a fresh file of evidence from police regarding the additional four victims.

Legal Pushback and Next Steps

The brothers, who previously lived in Romania where they also face serious ongoing legal battles, have vehemently denied all wrongdoing.

Joseph McBride, an attorney representing the brothers, fiercely condemned the latest UK charges over the weekend. He characterized them as “filth and slander” designed specifically to derail defamation lawsuits the Tates recently filed in the United States.

“We are confident that once a competent judge sees the facts, and once the Department of Justice confronts this egregious abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will walk free,” McBride stated.

The Tates are currently being held pending ongoing extradition proceedings, where a federal judge in Miami will determine the next steps in their return to the UK.
