ASABA, DELTA STATE – In what political analysts are already calling one of the most stunning political upsets and defeats in recent democratic history, incumbent Senator Ned Nwoko has suffered a crushing, loss in his bid to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta North senatorial ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a massive political upset, the former Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, completely dominated the primary elections, leaving the billionaire businessman and politician thoroughly humiliated.
The APC Returning Officer, Professor Johnbull Tonukari, officially announced the staggering results on Monday following the conclusion of voting across the nine local government areas of Delta North. Okowa emerged victorious in a historic landslide, polling a jaw-dropping 113,309 votes, while Ned Nwoko managed to secure a meager 2,612 votes. The third aspirant, Maryam Ali, was left trailing far behind with only 40 votes.
A Local Government Humiliation
The defeat tasted even more bitter for the Nwoko camp as Okowa extended his dominance right into Nwoko’s own local government area. In what party insiders described as the ultimate disrespect, Okowa soundly defeated the incumbent senator on his own home turf, polling 5,480 votes against Nwoko’s 1,343 votes.
The numbers across other local government areas painted an even bleaker picture for Nwoko:
- Ika South: Okowa (9,763) vs Nwoko (19)
- Ndokwa East: Okowa (9,436) vs Nwoko (79)
- Aniocha South: Okowa (10,353) vs Nwoko (168)
- Ika North East: Okowa (26,185) vs Nwoko (24)
Eugene Odo, the leader of the APC National Working Committee in Delta, formally declared Okowa the winner, praising the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and credible.
Regina Daniels and Fans Celebrate the Defeat Amid Marriage Fallout
While the political arena is reeling from the shock, the drama has spilled over into the personal life of the billionaire. In a twist that has set the internet on fire, sources close to the family reveal that the political disaster comes on the heels of a massive, bitter fallout between Ned Nwoko and his youngest, high-profile celebrity wife, Regina Daniels.
Once his fiercest campaigner, the Nollywood star was noticeably absent from the frontlines of Nwoko’s 2026 political machinery. Insiders allege that a deep marital rift has grown between the couple, fueled by intense domestic disagreements and the billionaire’s lifestyle choices.
Rather than mourning her husband’s spectacular political demise, rumors are swirling that Regina Daniels and her close circle are quietly celebrating the outcome. On social media, fans of the actress have gone into overdrive, openly rejoicing over Nwoko’s failure.
“Karma is real! He spent more time looking for another young wife than focusing on his constituency and his marriage,” one fan commented under a viral post.
Another added, “Regina is free! We are glad he lost. Now maybe he will face his family or realize that money can’t buy everything—not a senatorial ticket, and certainly not peace at home.”

As Ifeanyi Okowa prepares to fly the APC flag for Delta North in the 2027 elections, Ned Nwoko is left to lick his wounds. With his senatorial ambitions completely shattered and his marriage reportedly in a tailspin, the billionaire faces the toughest political and personal crisis of his life.
