UYO, NIGERIA — In an era where trusting a romantic partner feels increasingly like playing Russian roulette with your life, a chilling murder in the heart of Akwa Ibom State has served a terrifying wake-up call to the public. What was supposed to be a warm evening of intimacy and companionship ended in a pool of blood, exposing a cold, calculated plot driven by greed, betrayal, and violence.
The Last Visitor
It was a quiet Tuesday evening when Lorretta Anoh slipped through the gates of Osongama Estate, an upscale residential area in Uyo. Her destination was the private apartment of 36-year-old Chidoka Emeka Henry. To neighbors and onlookers, it appeared to be a routine visit between lovers.
Nobody suspected what was about to unfold inside those closed doors!
Hours later, Chidoka lay dead on his apartment floor, suffering from fatal, deep traumatic cuts to his head and chest.
Millions in Stolen Cash and a Stolen Luxury Ride
Detectives from the Akwa Ibom State Police Command pieced together the sequence of events as Lorretta Anoh allegedly executed her exit strategy.
When investigators tracked her down, she was found in possession of ₦2,943,250.00 in cash, which police confirm she confessed to stealing directly from the deceased. But the loot didn’t end with cash.
Parked outside was Chikoka’s prized asset—a sleek black Mercedes-Benz 4Matic bearing registration number EKY 694 GP. Police reports reveal that Anoh had already removed the luxury car from the residential parking lot and was actively making stealthy arrangements to falsify documents and transfer the vehicle’s ownership directly into her own name.
“A romantic meetup converted into a crime scene in a fraction of a second. Linking up with the wrong person today is no longer just a heartbreak risk—it can literally cost you your life.”
Police Launch High-Level Investigation
Following preliminary findings, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Amengheme Andrew, personally intervened, ordering the immediate transfer of the homicide file to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at Ikot Akpan Abia for a discreet and thorough investigation.
Commissioner Andrew issued a stark warning to citizens across the state and beyond, urging members of the public to exercise extreme caution regarding the company they keep and the individuals they invite into their private spaces.
